Alleged paedophile’s bail conditions amended

11 Jun 2009

The Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday amended the bail conditions of a man accused of sexually abusing several children at his wife’s nursery school in Pretoria’s Moot area.

The man was arrested earlier this year - over three weeks after the first charge was laid.

The alleged paedophile’s bail conditions were amended allowing him to return home.

Earlier this year he was released on R3 000 bail and was ordered to stay with his parents.

Since his arrest, his wife has closed the nursery school where he allegedly sexually assaulted several children.

As he has not pleaded to the charges neither he, nor the school may be identified.

So far, only two cases have been opened against the suspect but it is understood he molested at least five children.

The matter was postponed to August.
